Firemate Kilns                         

All kilns listed below are equipped with a Dawson Kiln Sitter® and Safety Timer plus the patented Firemate® control system which increases the power to the kiln from low to high automatically.  Unlike manual kilns which must be monitored and turned up by hand, Firemate® increases the temperature smoothly and evenly, reducing the risk of thermal shock which can cause cracking and crazing.  With the exception of the FX 911M all models have a speed control switch which allows you to determine how fast the temperature will increase.  The Firemate® can be turned off for manual operation.  The FX 911M features a single speed Firemate® control.

          Automatic Kilns          

These computerized kilns are extremely accurate and durable and as easy to program as your microwave oven.  Simply enter your cone number and choose any one of five speeds and you are ready to go.   Also features a delayed start model which permits you to automatically start your kiln late at night when there is less demand on your power supply.  All electronic kilns come "Clean Air Ready", which means you can easily attach the optional Cress Clean Air Exhaust System.  This exclusive innovation pulls oxygen into the kiln and exhausts fumes out the side of the entire depth of the kiln which maintains even temperature throughout the entire firing chamber.  May also be operated in a Ramp and Hold mode for glass fusing and other heat treating purposes.
